Dr Patrick, Osteopath Cape Town
People often ask what exactly an Osteopath does. Osteopathy like chiropractic is a manual therapy and focuses on integrating the biomechanics of the body.
Osteopaths work with a holistic method using a gentle and manipulative pressure to encourage changes throughout the body. Before I became an Osteopath, I got to experience this first hand with a complicated tennis shoulder injury. I tried some of the mainstream manual therapies and in the end Osteopathy is what worked for me and inspired me to continue on that path. I have an insatiable fascination for how the body works and helping people to be well in mind, body and spirit, and Osteopathy is exactly that.
I graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2000. Since then I worked in a very busy practice in the UK and held a senior lecturing post at the London School of Osteopathy for 4 years before returning to Cape Town.
